A BC-based charity founded in 2002, the Looking Glass Foundation is a caring community of prevention and support for those suffering from anorexia, bulimia, and other eating disorders — and those who love them. We are about getting to the other side of eating disorders, to eventually achieving a world without this devastating disease. To that end, we offer innovative programs to facilitate eating disorder prevention, early intervention, support, recovery, and sustained relapse prevention.
But there is so much more to be done. For every young person we’ve helped — who’s stayed at our Residence, experienced our Summer Camp, joined an online peer support group, or won a scholarship; for every family whose hands we’ve held and pain we’ve eased — we know there are thousands upon thousands more. Who haven’t come forward. Who are stranded on waitlists. Who are wondering if there will ever be something or somebody for them. And who are giving up. Alone, with this disease. For the Looking Glass Foundation — given all we know and all we’ve built, given how hard we work, and how generous a community we represent — that is simply not okay. We say, you are not alone. We say, let’s get to the other side.
