A river cruise touches the senses. It combines space and time to create a contemplative experience. Sitting on the upper deck in an intimate atmosphere, watching unspoiled, beautiful scenery pass by – these are moments you will never forget.
Johann Strauss immortalized her in a waltz, and Bettina Balàka wove her into a captivating mystery ("Eisflüstern"). The Danube, a muse to artists and writers, stands unparalleled in natural beauty. Its waters dance gently, expand into serene lakes, and rush through narrow valleys, a canvas framed by majestic cities like Vienna, Budapest, and Bratislava, adorned with lush vegetation. In every season, the Danube unfolds breathtaking vistas, and within the UNESCO-protected pastoral haven of Wachau, each moment demands attention. Here, amidst a cultural landscape, reminiscent of biblical tales with flourishing vineyards and orchards, the beauty is timeless. Tracing a 1,383-mile journey from Passau to the Black Sea, the Danube is more than a river. It's a living history book, where ten countries have etched their stories in architecture. Once a meeting ground for Romans, Barbarians, Christians, Jews, and Muslims, now it showcases monasteries, cathedrals, synagogues, and minarets. Since the maiden voyage of the Franz I in 1830, connecting Vienna and Budapest, the Danube has evolved into an essential experience for river cruise enthusiasts. A LUXURY RIVER CRUISE ON THE DANUBE
A holiday on the Riverside Mozart means packing your suitcase just once, experiencing all kinds of things and being happy. In one of our world-class restaurants. At the spa with a sauna and massage. On an excursion. Or simply sipping an Earl Grey or a Taittinger Rosé on the Vista Deck as the beautiful Wachau landscape passes by. It's all about letting go.
It's not just the clocks that tick differently on the Riverside Mozart, but the ship itself. It sets new standards with suites instead of cabins, the smallest of which measures just 20 square metres. No other luxury river cruise ship on the Danube offers so much space and such a large crew. Service on board is excellent. And yes, different tastes can break up marriages - but this ship is uncompromisingly beautiful.
We are back home and finally rested up! This was our first escorted bus tour so have no comparisons to make except we had a very good time. Staying 2-3 nights in each location was excellent planning and all hotels were fine.Nice group of folks on board from Bard’s supporters, having Christopher there was extra special! Vicki & Jennifer contributed also. Glad we took part and have loads of photos plus my daily journal for great memories.
