COAST MENTAL HEALTH

Coast Mental Health knows that with compassion and courage, recovery is possible.

It takes compassion to see beyond the devastating effects of mental illness and help someone rediscover their potential. It takes courage to believe that you can overcome your diagnosis and imagine a better future.

A not-for-profit organization, Coast Mental Health has been helping British Columbians with mental illness find that courage since 1972. They create a framework for community-based mental health care by providing the three essential pillars of sustained recovery:
  • Housing
  • Support Services
  • Employment & Education

With the resources provided through these three pillars, the people they serve – their clients – are empowered to take the lead in their recovery.

For over forty-five years, Coast Mental Health has been working with clients, donors and other government and non-government partners to build communities where people living with mental illness can thrive. The results are richer lives for their clients, a reduction in the stigmas surrounding mental illness, and reduced burdens on our health care and justice systems.
