JWH TRAVEL BITS AND MORE...September 13, 2019

“I love the sounds in an airport. I like the sounds of baggage wheels clacking on the moving sidewalk, a boarding pass being torn off, and my passport being stamped. All of those are comforting reminders that I am either almost home or soon to be somewhere new and exciting”
The Travel Bible
Effective 2019, for all Journeys with Heart tours moving forward, we’ll be taking steps to stop the distribution and or sale of single-use plastic (water) bottles on the tour coaches in an attempt to reduce the plastic footprint and embrace sustainable travel. We hope you will join us in this endeavour by travelling with a reusable water bottle when you travel with Journeys with Heart!

Your tour director will be available to direct you to portable water along your itinerary. Thank you for your understanding and support.

“Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of low-income Canadians and help power a national movement. Through this trip and your donation to Community Food Centres Canada, more food-insecure kids have access to healthy food and the chance to develop healthy eating habits. More families have a place to go to have delicious and nutritious community meals. More isolated seniors can come together in the kitchen to learn new skills and meet new friends. And more people struggling with poverty and food insecurity can speak out so we can change the system” Shahzadi

About Community Food Centres Canada Community Food Centres Canada builds health, belonging, and social justice in low-income neighbourhoods through the power of food. We do this in three ways. We build vibrant Community Food Centres and programs that change lives through food. We support local organizations to make change in their communities and contribute to a growing national food movement. We advocate for policies that reduce poverty, food insecurity, and poor health. Every morning at sunrise all across Southern India women practice the ancient art of drawing kolam on the thresholds of their properties. A physical form of prayer and symbol of protection, and a moment of meditation, drawing kolam is an important household ritual that has a lot more to it than may first meet the eye. By using rice flour to create the designs, they feed the insects and animals that are their neighbours, an important principle in Hindu belief.
