Vietnam & Cambodia 2012
In March 2012 award-winning food professional Barbara-Jo McIntosh and Canadian Queen of Talk, Vicki Gabereau hosted an intimate group on a journey to discover the culinary and cultural delights of Vietnam and Cambodia. The trip took them across the countries to enjoy breathtaking landscape, delighting in local cuisine, bargaining in the village markets, and taking in the beauty, and uniqueness these countries had to offer.

TESTIMONIALS from those who enjoyed the trip to Vietnam & Cambodia
It all worked out fine and we are now safely at home.... a lot of good memories. We had a wonderful time and would definitely consider another Journey with Hearts tour.
Thanks for all your personal attention and thoughtful communication.

Thank you for arranging the pick ups in Hanoi – Hung, our tour guide from Hanoi, greeted us at the airport which was great. We all loved her and thought she was the best guide we had. Thank you also for arranging for us to stay in the hotel in Siem Reap till we left for the airport around 6:30pm. We loved that hotel around the pond and lush surroundings. It was great to get some relaxation there. All the hotels were great (except maybe Halong Bay – although our room was good) but the one in Siem Reap was special.
It was a very smooth trip – very well organized – great restaurants; a bit too hectic for me but I opted out when I wanted to – especially in the very hot sun in Siem Reap – 38 degrees.
Thank you for all the work you put into this.

From my point of view I think the trip was outstanding. The Laos pretour with just six of us was wonderful. I have to say it was a jam-packed schedule, but I did not want to miss a thing as I had paid to go that far to see everything. I think we saw a good representation of the countries - some very sad things. I feel I received a very good picture of what the war may have been like there - boating in the jungle and viewing the Presidential palace in Saigon with the War museum. Great cooking lessons. Thanks Jenny for arranging the tour.

The best tour I have been on – and the only one (I thought I would hate a tour). Strengths – the people on the tour, our guide in Hanoi (superb) and in Saigon (smart and thoughtful), the countries themselves, the hotel in Hanoi, the fact that almost everyone on the tour has a genuine “heart” for people, for ideas, for travel and for making a positive difference in the world in a variety of ways – I think this acts as a screening device, the informal yet powerful role played by the “sisters” - Jane and Mary – their two songs were actually the sound track to the happiness group in convenience shoes, the visit to the orphanage, the boat trip/lunch on Halong Bay.
The journeys with heart concept I think acts as a sorting device so you get genuinely nifty people – I really MISS our tour people!
